Edwards, Jr., his father, and his wife Kay, formed D.P. Edwards Builders, Inc., which was granted a North Carolina General Contractors license with D. P. Edwards, Jr., as the qualifying examinee. D.P.’s construction experience include hands-on construction, on-site supervision, and project management. In 1993 D.P Edwards earned a Masters Degree in special education from Fayetteville State University. He taught in the public school system from 1994 to 2007. While he did not engage in construction for pay during this time, he did lead numerous mission repair teams in Eastern North Carolina. D.P.
